This was a very bad book with a lot of plot holes and parts that didn’t make any sense. By chance, Fama finds Debbie in a dangerous situation and acts quickly to rescue her.

This incident and what happens afterwards profoundly affect both girls. The author uses some of the same words over and over again, which made my expectation for this book lower.

I don’t recommend this book to anyone so don’t read it. I recommend it for all french speakers. She went to school and was part of the family. It would still be a better book. Then he runs away. We have learn the differences between each other because we all have our different backgrounds. In one part Fama literally sees someone robbing this girl that bullies her and she starts yelling. Debbie the bully is the only actual character that knows what she is doing. This book is about a girl from Mauritania who goes as an exchange student to California, at first she is bullied by someone, but they become friends after saving her from a robber.

Blaine Ray needs to be able to write way better if he wants to publish more books. I rated this book three stars because even though this book’s plot is quite interesting, this book lacked some details and descriptive words. Its a good book for beginners in french. This is a pretty terrible book.

This was book was very enjoyable to read because first of all it was in another language, French. Fama va en Californie was an amazingly well written book! Fama was a girl that lived in Mauritania and she was a foreign exchange student that went to California.

Je recommande pour tout les francophones. Fama is as boring as they come, with little no substance to her character what so ever. Traveling, moving, exploring often adds onto the knowledge we have about people from a certain country.
