I saw her as a very flawed individual who is striving to grow and become everything she feels God wants brken to be. It takes us through her darkest days, triumphs, downfalls and her road to personal growth and healing.

Peace from Broken Pieces: Lists with This Book. I recommend this book highly as a volume of understanding, self-discovery and freedom in the valley. She uses her skill as a spiritual teacher to help the reader navigate through difficult times in a positive manner. I laughed and cried along the way, their were times I felt I was in that “Sister Circle”. There were also grammatical errors, typos and some erroneous information, like Iyanla thinks aids can be spread in a hot tub and had a big fight with her form husband over this.
Her strength brpken really as a speaker, not a writer.

I am back in college now, I am a Supervisor at the Post office and my son is graduating college this year. I lived in the projects and was on welfare, only for 9 mos but I iyxnla felt the pains of a system that showed you rejection at every turn. I found myself saying, “Ok, I get it, I get it” more than a few times.
This coming from an almost middle aged did I admit that? I see how hurts from her childhood has now followed her into adulthood. But she saw it, with courage and might and left inspiration for millions who might go through darks days in life.
Vanzant on Oprah twice! Iyanla Vanzant, famous modernly for her Fix My Life series, straight up tells you she is in no way perfect. By then two of her relationships has failed. As the middle child Gemmia tried to be the perfect daughter. She gives us little lessons along the way, real soul lessons that we can actually take in and use.
Piece by piece; one experience, one situation, and one circumstance at a time, until I found myself standing in the midst of a heap of broken promises, splintered relationships, and shattered dreams. My favorite prayer from the book is ” Dear God: Her daughter’s death, her divorce from her husband, the details around relationship with Oprah, her television show and the forclosure on her home. Please read this book, it will change your life. Her healing journey–financially, psychologically, and spiritually–was not easy but is inspiring to read about. Since I have recently had the experience of piece with my mother as she suffered from peaace cancer, Iyanla’s experience hit pretty close to home.
I thought it was more like it was her voices telling her what to do rather than God’s, because it was never the best advice, and it always fell apart.
So even while they yearn for the spiritual freedom the course offers, they put the book aside, hoping to get to it one day. Iyanla has lived a very hard life, with one tragic heartbreak after the other one would think she’d be a little more empathetic toward the women on her current show on OWN because of it.
This was done by Iyanla herself and it made it so enjoyable to listen to. I also commend her for doing so, because it couldn’t had been easy, not all at. I love the saying ‘ Let Go or Be Dragged Which character — as performed by Iyanla Vanzant — was your favorite?

I do not understand how she was thirty years old before she had a clear understanding that she had been raped as a child. This woman lays it ALL out there, she is so blatantly honest about every single moment in her life, but it’s not just about that. My favorite quote from the book is “I’ve learned we peave get exactly what we need, when we need it,i Ms. I loved her style of “story-telling” Which character — as performed by Iyanla Vanzant — was your favorite?
I have been told her by friends yianla she is a wonderful inspirational speaker in helping broken relationships, but how can you give advice when you don’t have brokeen same skills in your own relationships with your parents, husbands, or children? That said, there’s inspiration, revelation, and lots to learn from Iyanla’s journey. Oct 23, Helena rated it it was amazing.

This book touches on the, as Vanzant calls it, Dis-ease which perhaps is keeping you from either experiencing joy or at the very least peace.
Oprah Winfrey, full cast Length: She always needs to interfere and assuming what people are thinking rather than asking them. In my view, she made a slow, naked walk in public look easy. I recommend this book if you like Iyanla or biographies.
